Training Services
Our current training services include:
- TOGAF certification
- Enterprise Architecture awareness training
TOGAF training - a flexible approach
We provide certification training in both TOGAF 7 and TOGAF 8.
Depending upon your current workload and preference, you can work towards certification in one of three ways. These are:
- instructor-led courses (for public and private groups)
- eLearning courses plus mentoring (for individuals)
- webinar based courses plus mentoring (for private groups only).
All three follow the same material, but involve different amounts of instructor time.
Instructor-led courses
In these courses the instructor guides the student through all the material necessary to achieve TOGAF certification. Students also participate in a case study and group exercises.
Certification is based upon the student's successful completion of the course as assessed by the instructor.
We schedule and run public courses all around the world on a regular basis. For clients with larger Enterprise Architecture teams we can arrange private courses to accommodate specific requirements.
eLearning courses
Some people can't commit the time to attend a workshop. Others simply prefer to work towards certification on their own. This is where an eLearning approach is useful.
However, our eLearning is more than just computer based training. We assign an instructor to act as a personal mentor to work with the student during the self-study period.
The eLearning materials include a workbook, which the student completes and the mentor assesses for certification purposes.
Webinar based courses (groups only)
Clients with geographically dispersed teams may find it difficult to bring them all together for an instructor-led course. One alternative is a webinar.
The webinar is an internet-based service hosted by an instructor. During four hours a day over four consecutive days the instructor takes the participants through the TOGAF certification material.
Following the webinar each participant completes an individual workbook in their own time. The instructor acts as a personal mentor during this period and finally assesses the workbook for certification. Participants usually complete the workbook within a month.

Pre-requisites for certification
Candidates should have an understanding of Enterprise Architecture and some prior architecture experience.
Once a student has successfully completed a TOGAF certification course we are able to put that student's CV forward to The Open Group for certification.
Enterprise Architecture awareness training
This course introduces the concept of Enterprise Architecture. It is a one day workshop tailored to the client's specific audience. Typical audiences include
- Business managers and strategists who need to understand the role of the Enterprise Architect
- IT architects about to move into Enterprise architecture.
