TOGAF for Practitioners 2009 - e-Learning

Course objective and pre-requisites

The Architecting the Enterprise e-Learning programme provides detailed training in TOGAF for those seeking to use TOGAF in their own enterprise and/or those seeking TOGAF certification. Built around the core TOGAF Architecture Development Method.

This course:

  • Describes the new features of TOGAF Version 9,
  • and
  • It will provide training for the new features of TOGAF Version 9 Level 1 and 2 as well as provide the learning to allow for TOGAF 8 Certification.

Students should already have an understanding of IT or Enterprise Architectures. Students should also have a high standard of written English.

Mentoring approach ensures success

We employ a mentoring approach to e-Learning, supporting the student through the self-study material. Mentoring consists of access to an introductory webinar and email discussions with a personal mentor. The mentor works with the student, assessing progress via a workbook. The instructor’s final assessment of the completed workbook leads to successful students being nominated for TOGAF 8 certification by The Open Group. TOGAF Version 9 Certification is based on an examination, which is independent of this training programme.

Course duration

The student typically completes the course on a part-time basis over ten-weeks. Successful completion of the course and qualification for TOGAF 8 certification normally takes at least 28 hours of self-study and requires the satisfactory completion of a workbook, comprising 48 short factual questions and 3 longer “application” questions based around a case study.

Start-up webinar

A four-hour webinar is available to get students started on the e-Learning materials.
