Description:

John Polgreen, Ph.D, of Architecting the Enterprise will be presenting an Open Group sponsored webinar dealing with some of the current problems encountered in implementing enterprise architecture in government. John will describe the benefits of using The Open Group Architectural Framework (TOGAF) to augment present practices. The TOGAF Architectural Development Methodology and other important aspects of TOGAF will be described briefly.

The webinar will show how the TOGAF Architectural Development Methodology maps to the Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA), the Federal CIO Guidance and the Federal Segment Architecture Development Methodology (FSAM) as a process, and can be used to enhance them.

Participants will be able to:

  • Examine current difficulties architects face in implementing government EA.
  • Explain benefits of using TOGAF to augment the FEA and FSAM.
  • Describe the TOGAF Architectural Development Methodology and Content Framework.
  • Discuss how to map the TOGAF Architectural Development Methodology to the Federal CIO Guidance as a process.
  • Relate the TOGAF Architectural Development Methodology to the tasks needed to implement the FEA and FSAM.
