John Polgreen
Global IT Architecture Experience
John is a TOGAF 8 Certified Enterprise Architecture Practitioner with fifteen years of IT experience. He came up in the industry through software development, and has implemented the Rational Unified Process in several U.S. Federal Departments including Transportation, Labor, Housing and Urban Development and the National Transportation Safety Board.
John has used TOGAF to implement enterprise architecture programs at U.S. Government Departments including Education; Agriculture; Health and Human Services; and the Department of Defense. He is experienced in the use of Telelogic Systems Architect and has worked with major EA frameworks in addition to TOGAF including Zachman, FEAF and DoDAF. He has worked in Microsoft, Java and mixed platform environments.
In addition to providing training through Architecting the Enterprise, John has provided consultancy services through his firm, Polgreen Associates, Inc. He has also worked through Pearson Blueprint, Catapult Technology and Information Strategies.

Education and diversity
John holds a doctorate from the University of Minnesota. His initial career involved promoting agricultural development through the use of simple technologies. He worked toward this end in several African countries over twelve years as a consultant to bilateral donors, UN agencies and the World Bank. John lives on the water near Annapolis, Maryland, USA, with his wife Pamela and daughter Rachel. His grown children are spread across the globe doing great things.
