Extensive business experience

Dave HarrisonDavid Harrison has worked in the IT industry for over 30 years.

During 22 years with IBM as a programmer, systems analyst and database administrator on a variety of development projects, and latterly in a consultancy role with the IBM sales force, he gained considerable experience in all aspects of the systems development life-cycle.

There followed 8 years with the UK's Ordnance Survey (OS) where, as a Senior Systems Development Consultant he established the Design Authority and Enterprise Architecture Teams and was responsible for promoting and advising on good design practice throughout OS.

From 2001 to 2004, David was the Senior Enterprise Architecture Consultant with Popkin Software (now Telelogic), providing support to client organisations in architecture planning, development and implementation, and has continued this work as an independent consultant since the beginning of 2005.

Since 2002, David has been heavily involved with the development and promotion and of TOGAF. He is a work-stream leader in the TOGAF 9 development programme, and is a Certified TOGAF Practitioner.

David is currently Chair of the Systems Architect User Group.

Education and diversity

In his personal life, David holds a Certificate in Horticulture from the Royal Horticultural Society, and divides much of his spare time between his organic Hampshire garden and his beautiful grandson.
