Graham Berrisford
Global IT Architecture Experience
Graham has worked for over 25 years in the IT industry, in a variety of roles - programming, analysis architecture, management and consulting. He has a broad knowledge of architecture methodology - from software architecture through solution architecture to enterprise architecture - and a long experience of training. He taught ground-breaking systems analysis and design techniques as long ago as 1980. He was a leader in showing how to build entity-event models and implement them using a 3-layer software architecture, and published a book on this in 1994. He then worked for a CASE tool company as a consultant in methodologies for building software applications. More recently, over a period of eight years, he led the development of methods, standards and training for the architects of a major systems integrator. He has directed a 15-day training programme for architects, and managed architect, analyst and designer communities.
Besides directing TOGAF courses for Architecting the Enterprise, Graham runs his own business teaching software architects and solution architects and helping large organisations to develop their architect capability. Graham has published a solution architecture method that works as a companion to TOGAF. Graham has applied to the Open Group for his solution architecture method to be recognised, on behalf of students who use it.
Education and diversity
Graham lives with his wife and two sons in south-west London. Recently, his knees told him to retire from playing soccer and badminton. He hopes a return to playing keyboard and guitar won't cause his fingers to give him the same message.
